The purpose of this initiative was to raise awareness among the volunteers about the different situation we could encounter during our events, in order to prevent them, and act if need be.
Over the past 2 years, we grew aware that ESN could have an impact on the newest generations and their consideration of questions such as consent, sexism, and sexual assaults.
Thus, we organised different workshops for our volunteers to constitute a safe team that could be present in all of our events to make sure our international students are safe and sound and enjoy at most their stay in Strasbourg.
One of our volunteers has followed a workshop for 2 days on questions such as sexual assault, rape culture, consequences on the victim, and how to handle situations. This volunteer has then condensed what she learned to give our volunteers the basis of what they should know.
