Trip to Castle Hluboká nad Vltavou - get to know Czech culture (and history), to acquaint International students with the use of Rekola bike-sharing system and to show the possibilities of tourism in the Czech Republic. Tour of the Zoo.
Use the possibility of cycling to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere.
We have established cooperation with Rekola bike-sharing.
We obtained special vouchers for all-day use of Rekola system. We have provided Vouchers to International Students free of charge.
Students received voucher codes on their mobile phones, then borrowed Rekola and we all met at 11 am on the bank of the Malše River. From there we all headed by Rekola towards the state castle Hluboká nad Vltavou. We ordered a tour in English at the chateau - unfortunately, a large part of the exhibition is not accessible for people with disabilities (because of stairs).
After visiting the castle we moved to the local Zoo Hluboká nad Vltavou. Here the students split up.
The first group consisted of students who were not interested in a tour of the Zoo and therefore went to the lookout Babka instead and after that home.
The second group consisted of students who, after a tour of the Zoo, rode by Rekola bikes back to České Budějovice.
Total distance from České Budějovice to Hluboká and back is 16 km.
Rekola trip starts at 11 am and ended around 6 pm.
International students know about the possibilities of tourism in the Czech Republic.
By riding a shared bike, we saved a relatively large amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.
International students got acquainted with the history of South Bohemia and the chateau Hluboká nad Vltavou.
