Students were invited to make a dish from their home country and bring it to share with others. The aim was to promote intercultural learning, and recognise their skills by awarding a prize to the best dish as voted for by the students. This event aimed to promote environmental sustainability as we did not provide plastic plates or cutlery, and instead encouraged the students to bring their own. Everyone divided the leftover food at the end so there was no food waste.
ESN invites you to get creative in the kitchen and come along to share a drink and some international food with students from all over the world, with a prize for the best chef!
What is a “pot-luck” dinner? Everyone is expected to bring one dish from their home country to share, and discover each others’ culture. Think easy, crowd-pleasing and transportable! There will also be a prize awarded for the best dish on the night!
There will be prize for the winning dish!
Help save the planet by bringing your own plates and cutlery, and a food box to take home any possible leftovers! Please note that you cannot bring your own drinks, and there will not be a microwave available to heat food.
Stick around afterwards to have a drink with us in Record Factory!
The students were able to try new foods, and learn about each others countries, and were able to socialise with new people. There was a prize awarded to the best dish.
