On Tuesday, May 21st, ESN Ankara University hosted an enlightening online training session titled "Pet Communication 101: Understanding Cats and Dogs Better," led by Dr. Sevim Isparta, an expert veterinary behaviorist. The session, conducted in English and, was designed to help participants interpret the signals and behaviors of animals, enhancing their ability to communicate effectively with their pets and stray animals in Türkiye.
During the session, attendees learned essential skills for interacting with dogs, including proper introductions such as letting them sniff your hand before petting and asking permission from their owners. They were also advised on what to avoid, such as sudden movements that could startle the animals. Participants gained insights into the historical and behavioral characteristics of both cats and dogs, helping them understand specific behaviors and communication cues.
A key focus of the training was to explore the emotional and psychological perspectives of animals to foster an environment of mutual trust and respect.
