Goal of the Activity

The main goal of this activity is to help students overcome the fear of talking in public while sharing music, poetry and promoting responsible drinking. Offering another option to wild partying while in exchange.

Description

This activity is held by ESN Salamanca around once a month, and it’s a hit for international students. We meet in a bar, where they have offers with their ESNcard, but drinking is not the purpose of the night! Days before, we sent a form where people can sign up as participants. Those who are interested go up on stage and share whichever kind of art they are interested in. For example, we had students singing, playing guitar or even reading poetry. Also some Spanish students who are not volunteers took part, which promotes the impact we can have in the local community aswell. One of our volunteers is in charge of presenting the open mic, letting the ones going up on stage feel safe and heard. At the end of the activity we all feel the bonding that we did (and yes, this can happen while cheering with a beer, but always in a responsible way!).
