We decided to organize these workshops between three sections of different countries, so that the participants will really have an intercultural dialogue on the selected topics. We chose the topics that go beyond ESN volunteering, because we want the participants of this training to use the knowledge they gained in everyday life situations and at their workplace. We consider that the world nowadays is more globalized than ever, all of us will for sure find ourselves in an intercultural environment at some point and the goal of these workshops is to prepare the participants for these situations. Moreover, even the planning process of this event has been done in an intercultural environment by bringing experiences and knowledge of people from different cultural backgrounds in order to put together the application and start a cooperation between the three sections. As such, the training also has the role of making volunteers get to know each other and start working together.
We organized the event through several online calls between our section, ESN Málaga and ESN ASE Bucharest. We searched for Eduk8 Trainers and other relators for the webinars and we succesfully managed to do so. Beside the Eduk8 Trainers, we had several international guests such as the president of ESN Italy, the president of ESN Spain and the NR of ESN The Netherlands. We used Zoom as our platform for the webinars. We promoted the event through the social media channels of the section and via mail to the local students, since it was addressed to both ESNers and non-. We fixed a different topic for each session which took place in the afternoon; the schedule was:
24th August: VOLUNTEER MOTIVATION
25th August: TEAMWORK
26th August: INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION
27th August: PUBLIC RELATIONS
28th August: LEADERSHIP
29th August: STRESS MANAGEMENT
30th August: DIPLOMACY
