The aim is to support a family in need by collecting and buying things they lack in everyday life and making their Christmas a peaceful and happy time they deserve. The best thing about this project is that every single person can make a contribution to it.
Have you ever heard about the Noble Gift, in Polish "Szlachetna Paczka"?
It’s one of the biggest social projects in Poland, and we could easily say that it’s one of the gentlest actions that makes the world a better place. The aim is to support a family in need by collecting and buying things they lack in everyday life and making their Christmas a peaceful and happy time they deserve. The best thing about this project is that every single person can make a contribution to it. For this reason, we will be endlessly happy and grateful if you join!
This year ESN Kraków United is helping Mrs Helena and her family.
History of the family: Mrs Helena, her husband Ignacio and their son Mateusz live in a rented house. The living conditions are very poor. The family hasn’t had electricity for over 2 years. Their difficult financial situation causes problems, sometimes they don’t have enough money for bills. Mateusz has a disability which prevents him from taking up a job. Furthermore, the boy’s illness is under research by a doctor, and they are waiting for a final diagnosis to start a treatment. Mrs Helena works in the information point at the train station as a part-time job. Her contract will expire by the end of December and she doesn’t know what will happen next. She is looking for a new job already. Mr Ignacio only performs odd jobs. They both know that during the pandemic it is hard to find full-time employment. At the moment, their monthly income amounts to approximately 1840 zł. After deducting the costs of living (500 zł), they have 447 zł (100 €) left for each family member per month.
