The activity was organized to give Erasmus participants the chance to experience a completely different day.
It began with everyone taking public transportation (a bus) to reduce emissions. We arrived at the location of a nature excursion, where participants downloaded the app "PlantNet."
During the hike, our guide provided educational insights about botanical diversity, conservation, and plant identification, helping the Erasmus students expand their knowledge of Mediterranean vegetation.
For lunch, the break was entirely eco-friendly, with each person bringing their own reusable containers and water bottles to minimize waste. The return trip to Florence was also made by bus, continuing the theme of sustainability.
The main goal of the event was to combine hiking with educational "naturalistic pillows" provided along the trail. We all took the bus together to the starting point and followed a hiking path with our environmental guide.
During the hike, we stopped for a lunch break near Borrow's waterfall. The guide shared insights about the trees and vegetation surrounding us, while the PlantNet app, available in different languages, allowed participants to learn botanical names in various languages.
The total length of the hiking path was approximately 8 km.
