Description

Join us in our second trip of the semester in Nafplio and Mycenae! 🌼🌼

Our trip begins in Ancient Mycenae, one of the most impressive archaeological sites of Europe, that dates back to the Late Bronze Era. This was the most influential center of that time and it gave its name to an entire civilization, the Mycenaean civilization. Surrounded by huge walls that were constructed by Cyclops as the myth says, it was a military-centered society with very limited interaction with other cultures.

Afterwards, we will be visiting one of the most beautiful cities of Peloponnese, Nafplio, which has a Venetian & Ottoman influence, and a rich history of the early years of liberation as it was the first capital of the newfound country of Greece in the 19th century. While in the city, we will visit Palamidi Castle, a breathtaking castle and one of the largest and best preserved fortress complexes of Venetian domination.
