A few kilometers away from Bologna, among the mountains that divide Emilia from Tuscany, where you least expect them, there are hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.
An out-of-town trip for a day into art, history and outdoor trekking visitig: Alvar Aalto's Church of Santa Maria Assunta, Rocchetta Mattei and reaching the ancient medieval town of La Scola with a trekking.
