To highlight the cultural diversity at Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) (there are 41% of regular students from abroad, in total, we have around 8,450 students from 113 countries), we organised a language event and we think that the best way to connect to culture is through food and language.
Our section comprises 31 people from 16 countries, and our board represents the DIT, as people from five nations work together here.
The participants could present their mother tongue (in the form of presentations or collages), and the German ESN members could also introduce the German language. Basics from each given language were taught, and language groups were formed according to the level of proficiency.
We tried to contribute to cultural diversity in a fun and interactive way, and this was our first event on the Causes of Education and Youth as well as Culture. We also organise country evenings where you can taste the local cuisine of the country presented, but we also want to offer language events. The first event was very well received, and there have already been requests for another one!
