Description

Journey to the city of Matera to discover one of the most beautiful places of Italian heritage and capital of culture 2019

It is known all over the world for the historic Sassi districts, which make it one of the oldest still inhabited cities in the world. 

The Sassi were recognized on 9 December 1993, in the assembly of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

the first site in southern Italy to receive this recognition.
