Goal of the Activity

The main goal of the activity was to show to our Erasmus students one of the typical tradition of the North of Italy: the Krampus parade. It was the chance also to see the famous Christmas markets of Innsbruck and Vipiteno and to visit these beautiful cities.

Description

We left Trento at 10 am and reached Innsbruck at 1 pm where we visited the Christmas markets and thanks to ESN Innsbruck we visited the city with one of their volunteers. After that we went to Vipiteno where we saw the Krampus parade: it's a tradition of the North of Italy. Krampus are demons that in the tradition were defeated by San Nicola: during the parade people dress up as Krampus and they scare people. It was the chance for our Erasmus students to see one of the most characteristic tradition of this geographical area. Also we ate typical dish from Innsbruck and Vipiteno.
