Our Karaoke Night is an ESN classic. It is all about social integration and cultural exchange, encouraging people to be outgoing, daring, and try something new, i.e. singing their favourite songs in public. It builds character to not be ashamed of oneself. Beyond that, the Campus Cneipe is a student bar on Campus, allowing our international guests to get in touch with out local students, and also it happens in cooperation with another student club.
Tired of singing in the shower? Why not take your show to the next level? Warm up your vocal cords and prepare for the unforgettable ESN-C2 Karaoke night!
If, for some mysterious reason, you’ve never tried karaoke before, you will not regret it! Just grab a drink or two to lubricate those vocal cords, your future buddy vocalist and you'll both sing like Mariah Carey! It doesn't matter if you're the next Elvis Presley or the next Spice Girls; Karaoke can be real fun!
The Event will take place at the Campus Cneipe in Garching, A pub run by students for students.
What to expect
This Karaoke takes place during the normal opening hours, so it is not only limited to international students. You'll be able to enter song wishes, which will be put in the moderated queue.
The hosting facility is run entirely by students, so expect student prices (yes, in Munich these are student prices 🥲) and student service (not always perfect). This place is nearly exclusively frequented by local and international students at TUM and rarely other universities. Feel free to join even if you're not from TUM.
How it works
On the spot you'll find QR codes: one will show you a website, where you can see all songs available for the Karaoke. The other will link you to a form, where you can enter your song wishes.
You are very welcome to sing with others. (Towards the end it is more common to sing as a group (of strangers) as alone; but that is the fun part of Karaoke)
Other information
They open at 17:00 and will provide us with drinks and some snacks (sandwiches, nachos and bowls). Just have a look at their price list.
Beware: the offered food might differ. There might be specials offered (Pasta, burgers, ...) but also it could happen, that one day the kitchen is closed.
Feel free to drop in after the lectures.
As usual, the C2 will close quite a bit before the very last Ubahn from Garching. However, still keep an eye on your last connection.
