The goal of The Invisible Tours with Shedia, is to raise awareness and foster understanding about homelessness and social exclusion. Through firsthand stories and guided exploration, we aim to challenge stereotypes, inspire empathy, and promote solidarity within our community. This activity not only highlights the value of inclusion but also supports Shedia's mission of empowering vulnerable individuals through meaningful opportunities. Together, we strive to create a more compassionate and socially aware society, aligning with the Erasmus and ESN values of cultural exchange and active citizenship
Hello to our dear Erasmus students!🤗
Having spent these last month in Greece we are sure you already have some unique experiences getting to know Athens and Greece better!🎉 This time around we bring you a slightly different activity, as part of the ‘’social impact days’’.👀 Behind the busy Athenian streets and the historical buildings, there are people who are struggling to survive on the daily.“Invisible tours” is a program of social tours through the city of Athens in which the guides are surge former or current homeless citizens. The most outstanding part is that we get to see the Athens we already know from the eyes of people how have lived it’s rawest form and get to learn their stories and struggles living on the street on a daily basis.🌃 We also get to receive insight into helping facilities like soup kitchens, shelters, rehabilitation centres and many more.
Seeing how things like that work from inside can really help understand the difficulties homeless people face.🫂
