The highlight of the picnic was the sense of community and connection that developed throughout the day. Despite coming from different backgrounds and speaking different languages, everyone felt united by the shared experience of being Erasmus students in a foreign country. Stories of cultural exchange, travel adventures, and the challenges of living abroad flowed freely, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
As the sun began to set, the picnic gradually wound down, with students exchanging contact information and making plans for future meetups.
Each student brought a dish from their home country, turning the picnic into a global feast. There were different kind of foods—Spanish tapas, Italian pasta, French pastries, Turkish mezze, and much more. The picnic was not only about enjoying delicious food but also about sharing cultural traditions and culinary secrets. As dishes were passed around, students explained the origins of their recipes, offering everyone a taste of their homeland.
In addition to the food, the picnic featured various activities that encouraged interaction and bonding. There were friendly games of frisbee and soccer, while others relaxed with card games or simply chatted on the blankets. Some students brought musical instruments, adding a live soundtrack to the day with impromptu performances of folk songs and popular tunes from their countries.
