The "Inclusivity for All" session, held during the training weekend of ESN UAM Poznań, focused on raising awareness and promoting inclusivity within the ESN UAM Poznań volounteers. Participants explored key concepts of diversity, inclusive communication, and accessible practices, with a particular emphasis on the importance of inclusive language in creating a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone, regardless of background, ability, gender, or identity.
Through interactive discussions and practical examples, we identified common barriers to inclusivity and shared strategies for overcoming them in events, activities, and everyday interactions. The session fostered empathy, encouraged open dialogue, and equipped participants with tools to actively contribute to a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone feels valued and represented.
The session included a mix of interactive activities and discussions to engage participants and provide practical insights into fostering inclusivity in our section.
The session began with a short seminar to introduce key concepts of diversity, inclusive communication, and the role of inclusive language in creating a welcoming environment. Participants then worked in groups to explore and discuss real-life situations that could arise during events, focusing on challenges and strategies for ensuring inclusivity. These scenarios encouraged problem-solving and the application of inclusive practices.
To conclude, a summary discussion allowed participants to share their reflections, insights, and ideas, fostering an open dialogue about inclusivity and the steps each member can take to make their section more welcoming and accessible. The session provided participants with practical tools and a deeper understanding of how to actively contribute to a stronger, more inclusive community
