Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity is to foster an open conversation regarding the topic of gender equality. Whether students are looking to network or make new friends, this is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people from different cultures in a way that challenges assumptions, stereotypes, and biases. The goal is to create space for everyone to explore the topic of gender equality in order to contribute to a shift in the understanding of gender expectations and roles. The main idea is to help participants discover how I, as an individual, can be more inclusive in my own environment?

Description

The activity consists of three pillars. The introduction explains why we are organizing this event and how important it is to foster a safe environment for quality conversations about our assumptions, stereotypes, and biases. The body consists of four different activities. The first activity is about the experiences students have had, what kinds of situations these are, and what can be changed to create more socially inclusive situations.  The second activity includes different prompts and sayings to foster a discussion and conversation emphasizing different opinions. The third activity is a case study about certain situations and what needs to be changed in order to make them more inclusive. The last activity is a poster creation by everyone. The goal is to collect different tips and ideas on how I, as an individual, can make my environment more inclusive.
