The main goal was to collaborate with american and italian people to clean up the city center of the city while enjoying it, there where as many guides as the number of cleaning groups, indeed. Through that activity we wanted to raise awareness about environmental protection, give to foreigners and to our students a little city tour while breaking down barriers between different generations by engaging them in useful and collective volunteering activites.
The activity started at 12 am. The meeting point was: Palace of Congresses in Piazza Adua where all associations (our's included) had the possibility to make a short exposition about main goals and activities that are carried out yearly. The event was organized by Tauck, a private American organization, which made possible to collaborate with people from the same continent. Furthermore, Angeli del Bello reached us out after they had been engaged by this organization to further enrich the diversity of the groups during the activity. After this little introduction, people where randomly devided in 14 clean-up groups, given the essentials to clean safely and associated to a professional guide, recruited by Tauck too. The clean up activity was carried out in different spots of the city center while other people remained at the Palace to join other upcycling workshops (how to reuse beer caps, and the proper way to recycle various materials...). The event ended at around 4pm, we came back to the meeting point where a vegetarian break was kindly offered by Tauck as a symbolic way to thank us for the partecipation.
