The purpose of organising this online social inclusion Cafe was to bring a bigger picture of the problems refugees face in everyday life and to give participants the opportunity to hear about the experience from a person who came from Syria and lived through it in Croatia.
The event was held online and we tried to make it more inclusive for everyone who is at home and wouldn't be able to participate in a non-virtual event. We invited a professor from a law faculty of University of Zagreb who told us about migrants' rights and explained the legal problems refugees face. We also had a migrant who came from Syria and was willing to tell us about his life and the way he came to Croatia. Also we invited a volunteer from Center for Peace Studies who told us about the way they help immigrants and the way we can become volunteers to help refugees. At any moment any participant could tell his point of view and how it is in their country when it comes to the situation of integrating minorities in the society. At the end of the event there was a Kahoot quizz to make the event more interactive.
