Goal of the Activity

The main objective of this activity was to provide international students with an opportunity to explore the natural beauty surrounding Plovdiv and to foster camaraderie among participants through a shared outdoor experience. By organizing a hike to Maiden Rock, we aimed to promote physical activity, appreciation for nature, and environmental responsibility. The activity also encouraged students to engage with the local community by purchasing food from a local store, further enhancing their cultural experience.

Description

ESN Plovdiv organized a day trip from Plovdiv to the village of Hrabrino, followed by a hike to Maiden Rock, a cliff standing 80 meters high with stunning views of the valley. The adventure began with a bus ride to Hrabrino, costing less than 4.50 leva for a round trip. However, due to a Sunday schedule change, the bus departed later than initially planned. This unexpected delay had a small positive impact, as it allowed latecomers to join the trip.

Upon arrival in the village, students had the opportunity to buy snacks from a local store, though they had been advised to bring their own food for a picnic at the site. After completing their purchases, the group set off on a hike to Maiden Rock. The students enjoyed the scenic route, taking in the beauty of nature along the way. At the cliff, they took photos and shared a meal together, appreciating the breathtaking views and each other's company. After their picnic, they carefully cleaned up, leaving the area as pristine as they found it.

Overall, it was a wonderful Sunday spent enjoying nature and the great outdoors.
