Highest In The Wood

We went for a trip in the heart of the National park of Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga, on the slopes of the Gran Sasso, the highest mountain of the Appennini. We left in the early morning from Teramo, first we visited the village of Pietracamela, known for its buildings carved into stone. Then we parked in Prati di Tivo and started our way up to the mountain stopping  after few hours at 1400m. On the way back to Teramo we stopped to another beautiful natural spot, The Varano falls.
