Goal of the Activity
To promote Polish culture and show foreign students how traditional, folk activities look like.
Description
On the first day of spring, we organized the event Goodbye winter aka Jare Gody, known in Poland best for drowning Marzanna (slav goddess of winter) on this day.
Our event was a workshop on making Marzanna from scratch (without non-ecological drowning and melting) combined with another polish folk tradition - St. Andrew's wax omens.
In addition, we organized a stand with other well known omens to differentiate whole event. After everything, we organized speed friending, which integrated participants after event.
By organising this activity, the organisers want to contribute to the following Sustainable Development Goals
Objectives
Counter Stereotypes & Embrace Cultural Differences
Fostering Responsible Consumption
Encouraging Wildlife Protection
