Goal of the Activity

The goal of this activity was cultural exploration, social integration and educational enhancement by visiting the very famous heritage of Switzerland i.e Red Cross Museum. The goals were successfully met.

Description

We met at 8.10am at the meeting point of the train station. Everyone was there really early so we had no trouble catching the train to Geneva at 8.34 am. We took the bus to the bus stop Appia, which is near the ICRC Museum. We booked the museum for the slot 11-12 am. 12-1 pm was lunch time. The Erasmi were told to bring their own lunch - not everyone did. There are benches and tables inside and outside the museum for picnic. The mensa is, however, closed on weekends. There are not a lot of opportunities to buy lunch close by. We met again after the lunch break, some people were late. We started our walking tour to the old city of Geneva. Vis à vis the Museum is the Palais des Nations, which is closed on Sundays. We stopped at the Broken Chair and took a picture in front of the Alley of Flags. Then we walked to the Parc mon repos (situated at seaside), there some people complained as they expected us to explain more. We continued to walk to the Bains des Paquins where we decided to not continue our tour to the old city, but give the Erasmi some time off to discover the old city by themselves. As it was Sunday there was not much going on. Our meeting point before going to the train station was the Jardin Anglais. The train back to Bern was at 16.42h.
