The aim of Tandem meetings is to foster language exchange between international students, meet new people, and experience other cultures in a non-formal learning environment.
Tandem is a series of reoccurring meetings hosted once or twice a month, each with a main topic. Before the event, participants are divided into tandem pairs, based on the languages they speak and can teach and those they would like to learn.
At the beginning of the meeting, participants were equipped with prepared guideline worksheets with a lot of examples on the broad topic of food, such as how to communicate in a restaurant, traditional foods from the person's country, and many more useful phrases. Throughout the event, they had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences while learning another language from the other person and practising their speaking skills.
