Bologna, Modena, and Maranello are all steeped in rich history and culture. We explored the historic streets of Bologna, with its medieval architecture and vibrant food scene, which provides insights into the region's past and present. In Modena, we experienced the city's Renaissance heritage, including its UNESCO-listed cathedral and historic center. The Emilia-Romagna region, where Bologna, Modena, and Maranello are located, is renowned for its culinary excellence. A trip to these cities provides the perfect opportunity to indulge in some of Italy's finest gastronomic delights. From Bologna's traditional dishes like tortellini and mortadella to Modena's balsamic vinegar and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, food lovers will be in paradise.
Maranello, home to the Ferrari headquarters and factory, as well as the Ferrari Museum, was another important stop of this trip: the town offers a chance to experience the legacy and innovation of one of the world's most iconic car brands. We visited the museum, saw classic and contemporary Ferrari models up close, and even took a test drive on nearby roads.
We moved from Trento on the 19th of April with a private bus that brought us to Bologna where we visited the city with a volunteer from ESN Bologna. After that, we went to see different museums in the city. We slept in Bologna and the next day we went to Modena. Here we met other volunteers from ESN Modena who brought us around the city for a guided tour. After a night in the city, we went to Maranello where we had the chance to visit the Ferrari museum with a guide who explained to us the story of the most iconic car brand and its founder.
