It was an open round-table of a group of experts on the topic with a facilitator that prepared a pack of questions regarding the suggested topics. The speakers had previous access to the questions so they could prepare them and provide a complete answer while they were encouraged to react to the others' interventions. Furthermore, the public was also allowed to do so in order to engage in a fluent debate/conversation.
The event took place on the 3rd and 4th of December 2021, the first day of the event took place in the University of Barcelona while the second took place at Pompeu Fabra University. The participation of the first day was higher than the second, with a total amount of around 30 Erasmus Generation people participating compared to the 10 people attending the second day.
The Organization Committee was established four months prior to the event and it involved the presidencies of the four ESN organizations in Barcelona and two support members. The speakers were different each day, as the topics covered varied from one to another.
The first day we could count on Antoni Luna and Markus González, vice-rectors of internationalisation at UPF and UB, together with Eugenia Di Pólito as part of the European Alliance Charm-EU and the Secretary for European and International Politics of the Joventut Socialista de Catalunya. We could also count with the presence of Stefano Pedarra, treasurer of Erasmus Student Network Spain, as facilitator of the event.
The second day was more focused on economics and European liberties, on which we could count with five speakers that covered both liberal and social-democrat profiles. Maria Llarás, from the Social Democrat Party of Catalonia and Councilor for Economic Promotion and Housing at El Masnou; Laura García, from the Social Democrat Party of Catalonia and Councilor for Equality at Hospitalet de Llobregat; Óscar García, coming from the private sector as a businessman and investor; Jesús Martín, as responsible of Press Communication of Ciudadanos Hospitalet de Llobregat and Neus Pociello, Executive Director of the Catalan Institut of Women. We could count with Leah Cipullo, member of the OC as the main facilitator of the event.
