The lesson is devoted to community service abroad. Volunteering in another country is a way to learn new skills, make interesting friends, test yourself in difficult situations, and brush up on your foreign language.
Experiences gained through volunteering pay off in the future. They are sometimes an asset when recruiting for college or applying for jobs. Volunteering is also one way to take advantage of a "gap year" - a break before, during or after graduation. The popularity of volunteering abroad among young people is growing. It is also one of the priorities of EU youth policy.
During the lesson, students consider what volunteering is, analyze the most important issues related to volunteering abroad and learn about volunteer abroad programs. They find out where to look for information on the topics covered in the lesson.
