To spread information about AIDS in the local community with the help of international students, in order to raise awareness to both prevent the spread of the disease and to prevent HIV-positive people from being discriminated against.
In occasion of the World's AIDS day, ESN Padova organized an afternoon aimed at spreading information about AIDS with the help of international students, ESN volunteers and members of the local community. A flash mob was performed in front of Padova's City hall and the University of Padova's main building. Volunteers then tended to a stand that offered passers-by hot chocolate, some sweets and information about AIDS, all kindly offered by the association CASA, which is involved in raising awareness about said disease, that held a stand next to ours. In the meantime, international students were invited to take part in a treasure hunt around Padova's city center, where they completed some challenges that tested and improved their knowledge about AIDS and HIV. All participants were asked to wear red and were be gifted a red balloon, in order to colour the city center and draw attention to the event.
