Goal of the Activity

During our welcome weeks, we brought the Erasmus Students to visit the famous 'Sacra di San Michele' (manely 'Abbey of San Michele), a symbol of Piedmont region, placed on the top of Monte Pichiriano.
The goal was to show the students a symbol of our territory while doing healthy physical activity and raise their awarness about the polluton's degree that carachterize the city of Turin

Description

We took the train from Turin to Sant'Ambrogio, where the hiking path starts, and started to walk following the ancient commercial path, used in the past by the monks to bring food and other materials to the Abbey

The path lasts roughly 2 hours
Once we arrived there, we performed together with the International Students, a yoga class in the gardens surrounding the Abbrey.

Once we arrived to the highest point of the mountain, we made the Students observe the Turin area from above and let them see with their own eyes the great smogcloud that covers Turin. We discussed with them about the importance of lowering our environmental impact through the use of public transports and the choice to switch to more sustainable food
