Goal of the Activity

The objective of this activity was to introduce Erasmus students to the rich and diverse flavors of Bulgarian cuisine in a welcoming and non-touristy setting, while also celebrating special moments, such as birthdays, within the Erasmus community.

Description

ESN Plovdiv organized a delightful dinner at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant, carefully chosen for its accessibility to all participants while being away from the touristy areas to ensure a unique experience. Approximately 40 people, including Erasmus students, gathered to savor the local cuisine.

  1. Authentic Bulgarian Fare: At the restaurant, participants had the opportunity to explore a variety of Bulgarian dishes while listening to traditional Bulgarian music. Some Erasmus students opted for individual orders, while others chose to share plates, allowing everyone to sample a wider selection of Bulgarian delicacies.

  2. Multilingual Birthday Celebration: During the dinner, it was discovered that one of the students was celebrating her birthday. In a heartwarming gesture of multicultural friendship, fellow Erasmus students sang "Happy Birthday" in three different languages, making the moment truly special. From the ESN staff, the birthday celebrant received a slice of cake with a candle, adding to the joy of the occasion.

This dinner not only provided Erasmus students with a delicious culinary experience but also facilitated cultural exchange and bonding within the group. It offered a taste of Bulgaria's gastronomic traditions and created lasting memories, especially through the touching birthday celebration, demonstrating the unity and warmth of the Erasmus community.
