Goal of the Activity

The main objective of the International Cultural Lessons is to promote global citizenship and cultural diversity among young pupils (ages 7-14), fostering openness and breaking down stereotypes at an early age. By exposing children to various cultures, traditions, and languages directly presented by Erasmus volunteers, the project expands their worldview and inspires long-term interest in international exchange.

In addition, the activity acts as a crucial community engagement project, providing meaningful and structured volunteering opportunities for Erasmus students. It allows them to apply their soft skills, practice teaching, and integrate into the local community by contributing positively to the education of local youth.

Description

As part of the Social Impact Days organized by ESN UJ, a series of international lessons led by Erasmus students were implemented in cooperation with the 4English language school.

Between November 18 and December 5, workshops were held for children aged 7 to 14, during which volunteers from countries such as Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, France, Brazil, and Indonesia introduced the students to the culture of their respective countries. Each meeting was an opportunity to learn about interesting facts, traditions, music, and even basic dance steps characteristic of a given country.

The Erasmus students presented their cities and regions, talked about daily life, taught short phrases, and encouraged children to actively communicate in English. The project not only expands knowledge about cultural diversity but also inspires young pupils to be open-minded, learn languages, and build international relationships.
