Goal of the Activity

The Goal of the Activity was to show the High School pupils in Parma the possibilities and opportunities offered by an Erasmus program or, in a wider way, an exchange program; moreover, another goal was to make them know our assocation and understand that also staying in a small city like Parma, is possible to get in contact with other culture and people from all over the world.

Description

Thanks to the relationship with the International Relations Office of our University, we got the contact of a High School Professor that coordinates Erasmus+ programmes for the young students of that school; we proposed our idea of the EiS that was accepted really enthusiastically. We had the possibility to make our presentation in the Aula Magna of the school, with an audience of more than 50 representatives of the students of all the sections of the school. After a short introduction made by a Profesor of the school, we had the opportunity to talk a bit about our association and then we started with with an ice breaker: we organised a Slido asking the students to answer (anonymously) at some questions such as "Whch words come to your mind if you think about Erasmus?".

Then we, six ESNers, started with our presentation about Erasmus: we explained what it is, its history and all the different possibilities (Erasmus+ for study, Overworld, Traineeship, DiscoverEU, but also programmes for students that won't go to the University or those who want to volunteering in Europe). Finally, we shortly talked about ESN and what we do.

Then, it was the turn of the exchange students that participated, some with Erasmus+ project and others with Overworld one; they showed their presentation and talked about their countries, their Universities, but also about what Erasmus is and what does their experience in Italy gave them. To conclude, we proposed a Q&A moment, that has been really appreciated by the students, that participated a lot: they asked questions to us and to the exchange students, some focusing more specifically about the projects and how they work (how to get the scholasrhip, how many exams they have to do, how to register for an Erasmus...) and some focusing on the life in another country for example.
