One of the main goals was to inform high school students about the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ program (including study exchanges, internships, and volunteering abroad). We were highlighting the program's benefits such as personal growth, cultural exchange, and career development. It is to motivate young students to consider doing an Erasmus as a valuable part of their academic and professional journey.
Another crucial goal is to promote the values of cultural diversity, tolerance, and international cooperation; and encourage students to think globally and appreciate different cultures. This is important for young students to understand that they are all a part of the European community as European citizens.
This is great for the future generation who will experience Erasmus exchanges to know and connect with ESN volunteers in case they have questions in the future.
ESN Paris was invited to an "Orientation Forum" organized by the Condorcet highschool (Saint-Maur-des-Fossés).
There was a presentation of the ESN association to a particular class of the high school, followed by questions and chats.
Then happened a breakfast offered bu the high scholl for the young students and the participants to the forum.
This was followed by a fair. ESN Paris had a stand and could give away the International Mobility Passport, promote mobility while having a conversation with the pupils.
We explained how the Erasmus+ program works, including application procedures, funding options, and eligibility criteria, in order for them to have a clearer idea of how accessible it is to everyone (inclusivity in diversity). We addressed common concerns or misconceptions about studying abroad, such as language barriers, cultural differences, or financial challenges. We shared success stories, and the ESN Paris volunteer talked about her personal experiences as a testimonial from former Erasmus participants often encourages interest.
Showcase how Erasmus experiences contribute to life skills like adaptability, independence, and intercultural communication (as well as practice and improvement of languages skills).
