The goal of the activity was to make our Muslim Erasmus students feel welcomed and allow them to share their culture with us, and from our side to get the possibility to celebrate with them and get to know more about their religion and lifestyle.
The event took place on 10 April 2024 as the celebration of the end of Ramadan. It was planned since many of the students who arrived this semester are Muslims and strong believers in their traditions.
Each participant brought a typical dish from their own country to eat and we celebrated the event through learning about the various traditions associated with the Eid.
It was convivial, we all sat around the table and listened to the students reminisce about some of the happiest times they had, being a bit like Christmas for them.
The event was so well received that several Erasmus students requested events for each country so that they could celebrate everyone's origins.
