Promotion of the opportunities in the EU such as Erasmus+ program to local high school students. To meet an Erasmus exchange student, make them acquainted with foreign culture, to practice English as a foreign language during the event, and to learn about ESN as a volunteer student organization.
The event took place in "Baba Tonka" high school of Mathematics in Ruse on 5th of April. The activity was carried out with students in the 11th and 12th grade within the age gap of 16-18 years of age. The speakers were an exchange student from Italy and the president of the local section. The school provided a their Aula for the event as well as sound system and projector for the presentations of the presenters.
The agenda of was the following:
1. Short introduction about the activity: who is visiting and why; what is about to happen.
2. Introduction to the Erasmus+ program: short-term projects, university exchanges:
- Presentation by the president of the local section;
– Icebreaker with the students so that they feel more comfortable asking questions about the program;
– What is Erasmus?
– What types of exchanges are there?
- What is ESN;
- Question round.
3. Introduction by the Erasmus student:
- Presentation showing his homeland - what the students know about Italy and what they do not;
– Why has he chosen Bulgaria?
– What does he like about Bulgaria’s land, culture, cuisine, etc.?
– What are his best experiences during his exchange in Bulgaria?
4. Sharing by the ESN volunteer:
– Where have they been on Erasmus projects?
– What do they like about the different countries’ land, culture, cuisine, etc.?
– What are their best experiences during these exchanges?
5. Reflection with the students:
– Have they got any questions?
– Would they go on an exchange?
– What do they think about the session?
