Goal of the Activity
Introduce international students to Easter traditions in Slovakia and show them our traditional way of BBQ.
Description
After traveling by train from Žilina to Martin, we took a 3 km walk to the museum of the Slovak village. At the same time, an event was held in the museum called Easter in the village, which we wanted to take part in.
What we saw:
- - houses from various regions of Slovakia,
- - traditional way of making linen oil,
- - volunteers demonstrated Slovak Easter traditions such as vipping and throwing water on girls, they sang Easter songs and danced,
- - we painted eggs with hot wax,
- - looked through the Easter markets.
- After the museum visit we changed location and started preparing the campfire. We baked sausages, cheese and bread over the fire and ate it with vegetables.
- Following our museum exploration, we transitioned to another area to prepare a campfire. There, we enjoyed roasting sausages, cheese, and bread over the flames, pairing it with fresh vegetables for a satisfying meal.
