Goal of the Activity

The first goal was for the Erasmus students to experience a Greek Easter tradition. In this activity, we also wanted to include the group "Talking about autism" to raise awareness, as it was an opportunity to bond with them, to see how there are no barriers between people and that we can work together in a creative way if we are willing to see the potential of coming together.

Description

We got together at the Upper Student Restaurant of A.U.TH. with all the participants, the volunteers and the guests from the group "Talking about autism". Everyone had to bring their own hardboiled egg to paint and we as ESN would provide the materials and some extra eggs. There were many options, as we wanted to cultivate an environment that would encourage creativity and freedom of expression. To paint the eggs we used water colours, crayons, markers, stickers, tapes and of course the traditional dye that we use in Greece, not only in red, but other colours too. The participants also had the opportunity to try out a more special traditional technique, where we use leaves and secure them on the eggs with tights before we dye them, to leave beautiful designs afterwards. There was a variety of designs in the end, that were very interesting. There was also a small buffet with some Easter treats and drinks.
