The goal of the activity was to first and foremost to bring smiles to children's faces in local hospital in oncology ward. We wanted to gift them special, handmade Easter cards and wish them the strength to withstand the illness. We all know how awful it is to be separated from family, especially during holidays. With small but important gesture like that we wanted them to remember that they are not forgotten even if they cannot be with their families.
We gathered at our university and provided materials for local and erasmus students such as: paper, scissors, glue, colored paper etc. We spend the evening making special cards with wishes to children in oncology ward. We tried our best to make the best cards possible, keeping in mind that children also often provide handmade presents to their family. In such way we showcased that while being at Erasmus you can also participate in important causes, not only parties and movie nights. Keeping that in mind is important, whether you are at home or a foreign country. The next day we went to gift those cards to children via hospital staff.
