The activity goals were to provide a core language basis to the Erasmus students not acquainted with Italian language.
On the other hand, it was focused on enhancing the fluency of the ones that already master a good communicative threshold in Italian.
The whole course lasted for one month and a half, once a week on Saturday. The participants were divided into 2 groups, using 2 different links to access 2 separate virtual classrooms.
The basic classroom was structured in the following way (each part = 15 mins):
1) listening exercise: listen once to a famous song and than listen again in order to fill the lyrics gaps.
2) grammar explanation: covering a full topic (eg: prepositions, nouns, etc.).
3) grammar practice: applying the previous explained rule to concrete sentences.
4) Italian idiomatic insights (common sayings): trying to guess the meaning and than providing an explanation.
(Ending with a Q&A session)
The advanced group followed a more flexible format, being structed more as a conversation club than as a classic lesson.
Materials were provided as an icebreaker or to guide the dialogue, too.
