The main goal of this activity was to introduce international and local students to İzmir by showing its most iconic landmarks, cultural highlights, and local flavors. At the same time, the event aimed to encourage interaction among participants, create a friendly atmosphere, and build stronger bonds within the ESN community. Through exploring the city together, trying traditional food, and engaging in small group challenges, participants had the chance to connect, share experiences, and feel more at home in İzmir.
Discover İzmir: City Tour gathered around 40 participants for a day full of exploration, culture, and fun. The journey started with breakfast at well-known local stops such as Zeynel Ergin Gevrek Fırını, Alsancak Dostlar Fırını, and Çelebi, giving everyone the opportunity to experience authentic tastes of İzmir. After enjoying some time by the seaside, the group visited the Konak Clock Tower and then split into smaller teams to explore the vibrant Kemeraltı Bazaar. Each team received creative mini-tasks, such as taking the funniest picture, which added a playful and interactive twist to the tour. The last stop was Karşıyaka, where participants enjoyed free time to discover the district at their own pace. The event successfully combined sightseeing with cultural immersion and social activities, leaving participants with new friendships, shared memories, and a deeper connection to the city.
