DINNER WITH INSECTS. AN EXPERIENCE TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORLD OF EDIBLE INSECTS!
In a suggestive place in the heart of Bergamo, during a special dining experience, between art, discussions, explanations and tastings of delicious dishes, we had the chanche to discover the qualities of an unusual and exquisite food element: insects, a controversial ingredient, very debated, that is slowly entering the world of the European food market for its nutritional and sustainable characteristics.
The dining experience was made of 4 dishes, all made out of insects: "meatballs" with cricket flour and spices with cheese sauce, couscous with caiman, vegetable cake with locust and a sweetie made out of cricket flour and coconut, accompained with cooked crickets.
Before the beginning of the experience we were explained the meaning of eating insects, we were explained the production chain, along with the pros and cons of this practice, its nutritional values and the importance of this regarding the environmental impact. This culinary and sensorial experience has been useful to overcome cultural prejudices towards certain foods, to which we are not accustomed, but which are however eaten by many people in the world every day.
