The goal of “Dialogo nel Buio” is not to simulate blindness, but to invite participants to experience how the perception of reality and communication can be much deeper and more intense in the absence of light. It aims to change the visitor’s way of thinking by raising awareness about diversity, pushing visitors to experience normal daily actions in complete darkness. “Dialogo nel Buio” helps to awaken and enhance extra-visual channels for a more harmonious knowledge of oneself and reality.
"Dialogo nel Buio" is a unique event hosted at the Institute for the Blind in Milan. It’s an exhibition/journey that takes place in total darkness. Visitors, in groups of up to 8 people, undertake a one-hour journey in the dark. During this journey, visitors traverse various environments that evoke everyday life situations. These situations are discovered through the senses of touch, hearing, smell, and taste. A blind guide accompanies visitors throughout the journey, revealing "another way of seeing".
