Goal of the Activity

The main goal of this activity was to hike on the Monte Conero, one of the most famous landmarks in Marche Region, and discover the natural variety and beauties of this area.

Description

This event was organized as part of welcome days to give the best welcome to new incoming students for the second semester. Erasmus students led by a few volunteers met in the city center in the late morning to go to Mt. Conero by bus. Some reached the starting point of the hike with their cars. The hiking aimed to be around 9 km long and the walk was chill and relaxing, on a good ground, for the majority of the route into the woods, and with several stop to look at the wonderful views of this regional park. The main points of interest reached were: Pian Grande, Belvedere Nord and Pian dei Raggetti for the wonderful views over the sea or towards the italian countryside, the ancient Badia di San Pietro, the roman caves and rock paintings. Students had their packed lunch together during the hike that it was also one of the first opportunities to get to know each other and make new friends.

For the past two years we have been repeating this activity in a manner during welcome days, this experience has allowed us to perfect it and carry it out today without any problems, we know perfectly the paths, the timing, the problems that may arise and how to solve them. The students enjoy every time and we with them, a tradition to be continued again.
