The main goal of the activity was to make Erasmus people know about one of the most influent cities in the Campania region, rich of history, art and nature. Creating an alternative to Naples city tours caused a great increase on the number of partecipants. That's also because, as the first Sunday of the month, the visit of Pozzuoli's amphitheatre was for free. The great importance the city had during the Greek and Roman period was explained to Erasmus students, during the tour. Beyond that, the tour was the opportunity to make Erasmus spend quality time far from the city's noise, since the center of Pozzuoli is rich of landscapes enhancing not only the ancient art but also beautiful sunset at the seaside.
We set the meeting at the Solfatara metro station. During the morning, we made Erasmus people visit the "Anfiteatro Flavio" of Pozzuoli, i.e. the third largest amphitheatre in Italy. After that, we reached Villa Avellino, a 16th century private garden (now public park). Then, after shooting some photos in a panoramic point, we made a lunch at the seaside. The afternoon tour included a visit of the Serapide temple ruins, also called "Macellum", the Pozzuoli port, and the first inhabitated part of Pozzuoli (since the 2nd century), called Rione Terra. The tour was concluded with an happy hour spent admiring the sunset view in the sea.
