Goal of the Activity

Goal of the activity was to get to know Erasmus students who were staying in Osijek with beautiful and special part of this side of Croatia - Baranja - and its natural and cultural heritage.

Description

We explored places that are located in Baranja and tasted some delicious food and famous Baranja wine!

We've been to four different destinations - first, we went to lunch at Citadela restaurant in village mostly populated with Hungarians - Vardarac. Then, after lunch, we went to Zmajevac, famous place of all sorts of wines and popular for its wine marathon which is held every September for the last 15 years. In Zmajevac we visited Vina Kalazić where we organized wine tasting and tour of winery. Later, we went to most popular beach in this area, called Draž (and the village is also called Draž); fun fact is that Baranja residents are calling this beach "baranjsko Zrće". There we swam, had some snack break, drank coffee and talked. Last, but not least, destination we visited was Batina, village located near border with Serbia and famous for statue of Batina battle.
