Goal of the Activity
- -To show Erasmus students antique artifacts on sale at the antique bazaar to give them a glimpse into the household items of Turkish people in the past.
- -To showcase the traditional Turkish bazaar culture while promoting the recycling of old products and talking to students about the importance of a circular economy on our way to the bazaar.
- -To have Turkish ESNers assist Erasmus students in communicating with local vendors. To enable them to share their stories and talk about their goods and the history behind them to promote the cultural integration and intercultural dialoge of Erasmus students with the locals.
- -To show the importance of not throwing away repairable products and trying to repair and reutilize them as well as not directly buying brand-new products without checking the availability of second-hand goods.
Description
We took Erasmus students to the Antique Bazaar in the historical Ayrancı District of Ankara. While there, the students had the opportunity to taste traditional homemade Turkish food made by the vendors as well as get a glimpse at old Turkish household items, jewelry and other goods.
