Goal of the Activity

The purpose of this event is to introduce Ankara, its landmarks, culture, and vibrant student life, to ESN ESTU students visiting from Eskişehir, fostering cultural exchange and a sense of community between ESN sections in Ankara and ESN ESTU.

Description

On the first day of the event, Saturday morning, visitors from ESN ESTU, and Ankara sections gathered in Hamamönü. They had breakfast together to kick-start the day.

After a little group tour in Hamamönü, the
group marched to the Ankara Castle while enjoying the great views of Ankara, taking pictures, and connecting with one another on the road. And the interaction throughout the event brought the sections closer,
fostering a strong sense of connection and camaraderie. Upon completing the Ankara Castle tour, the group walked to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in which they explored the rich history of ancient
Anatolia, admired the fascinating artifacts, and enjoyed learning about the diverse cultures that had shaped the region.

The next destination of the Ankara trip was, of course, to visit the Anıtkabir. Honouring Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, marvelled at the monumental structure, and deepened
their understanding of Turkey's history and national heritage. After which, the group sat down together in a local coffee shop, chilled and unwind. But the event was far from over and the next visit was the famous ASPAVA dinner of Ankara, enjoying the delicious meals of döner or kebabs, with limitless treats.

Finally, the group gathered in a pub, relishing cold drinks, sharing stories from the day’s adventure, and enjoy the lively pub atmosphere, making the most of their evening together. Just out of luck, the group also experienced the first snowfall in Ankara,
the Saturday night ended on a high note, with the group in great spirits, deeply moved by witnessing their first snowfall in Ankara, which added a magical touch to the day and made the experience even more unforgettable as they relaxed and bonded together.

On Sunday, participants including ESN’ers from all the sections (ESN Ankara University, ESN Başkent, ESN AYBU and ESN ESTU) gathered at Route Selanik, at 11.00. Everyone socialized for a during breakfast and
had coffees afterward. There was a calm environment for everyone to be able to relax and break the ice between ESN’ers and Erasmus students.
At 14.30, participants headed to Ankamall, which is a huge amusement centre. Engaging in activities such as 7D Cinema and bowling is played based on the participants preferences. Everyone had an enjoyable time with their new friends. Afterwards, some of the participants had a meal and enjoyed the free time. The event ended with a heartfelt farewell in the evening.
