We will head to the area of Alà dei Sardi, where we will meet Bobo, our local guide.
He will lead us to several places in the area and share with us his love for the local historical and environmental patrimony.
Early in the morning we visited the sacred Nuragic area of Sos Nuratòlos, enjoying the splendid views that extend across the region of Monte Acuto.
A short visit to the rural sanctuary dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, where we have been welcomed by Tore Porcheddu, who showed us the commitment and devotion that every Alaese citizen dedicates to the "three days" of the month of October, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Franciscan's death.
Lunch break at Sos Sonorcolos, that allowed everyone to refresh themselves by appreciating local food products and the welcome presence of some of the members of the Sant'Austinu polyphonic choir, who entertained us with some songs from their repertoire and from the Sardinian tradition.
Final part of the day dedicated to cork, a certified and excellent product of the Alaese territory. We visited the cork forest, where the expert of the sector explained us the technical and scientific aspects of cork extraction, focusing on the sustainability of the supply chain. The visit ended with a practical simulation of cork decortica and with some notions on the sustainable extraction practices.
