The goal of our events is to help students get to know the city and it's surroundings.
Also we want to bring them together to find new friends and get to know other cultures, for this we organize different events like parties, trips, sports events and many more.
We published the event with this description:
Do you want to see the Alps in winter? Did you ever want to experience sleeping in a mountain hut? Are you bored of just doing a small one day hike? Then join us on our 3 day tour in the Berchtesgaden Alps!
We will discover the wild and harsh conditions of the Alps in winter and enjoy the cosiness of the mountain hut. This is a difficult tour as we will cover some serious elevation gain and you have to carry all your stuff to the hut.
We will take the train on Saturday morning, return on Monday evening and sleep in the Carl-von-Stahl hut at 1.733m (in a mattress camp -> no private rooms!).
Day (Saturday):
Departure from Munich (meeting point is 6:30am at the main station)
Ascend to the mountain hut (~6 hours, 1100 hm, ), bring lunch yourself!
Day (Sunday): Roundtour from the mountain hut (which exactly we will decide together)
Day (Monday):
Descend from the mountain and return to Munich (arrival probably ~20:00 at the main station)
At the hut you will have to pay for food and drinks yourself. Prices are comparable to restaurants in munich. You can also buy a lunch package for Sunday and Monday.
Essential hiking packing list (you need to bring this yourself. Do not register if you can't take this with you to the event):
-hiking boots that go over the ankle (sneakers are definitely not appropriate for this trip)
-hiking backpack (30-40L)
-warm clothing (like a fleece sweater)
-a warm jacket (like a down-jacket)
-a jacket against rain/wind
-gloves, a warm hat, scarf
-a “Hüttenschlafsack” (a very thin sleeping bag, mainly used as a sheet, because the blankets at the hut are not washed every time)*
-Cash for paying at the hut
*You can buy them for 10-15€, ask us if you can’t find one (Tobias: +4917643728074, Adrian: +4915737219122, you can also text us for other questions to this event). Sometimes they are also called “Schlafsack-Inlett”. It is mandatory to use one in the hut!
A detailed packing list and further information will be sent via e-mail.
The event will also take place in case of rain or snow, only when the hut closes it will be canceled (this happens for example in case of severe storms).
You will have to carry all the luggage by yourself so don’t bring too much.
The price includes transportation (train + bus) and accommodation.
Attention: This hike is not for beginners! Only sign up if you have some experience and proper equipment.
Hiking in the mountains always poses risks. When there is snow there is the additional and potentially lethal danger of avalanches. We will try to minimise the risks but there is no such thing as guaranteed safety. Avalanches can happen at any time. I hereby acknowledge that I know and understand the dangers of hiking in general and the additional dangers in snowy conditions and willingly take that risk.
The tutors are no professional mountain hiking guides and everybody is responsible for themselves.
Deregistrations are not possible for this event!
